Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

It's not good, but it's not horrible. 2/5. It reminds me of Chinese food you would get in a mall food court, but just a tad better. Sadly, I dont think this place has much longer before it is out of business.

I'm going way out on a limb here and giving these guys the benefit of the doubt/feeling generous "A-OK" 3 star rating. This place is exactly what you would expect from plaza and/or mall chinese food. No more, no less. Breakdown: Service = * Food = ** / *** Price = *** It seems that the two other reviewers had terrible experiences with the front of house. While I totally agree that the customer service is dodgy at best, I didn't have a horrible experience, nor do I have a need to use Yelp as a sounding board about my misfortunes. Yes, it's true that the manager spent most of the time that we were in there either a) on her blinged out cell phone b) on the regular phone taking orders or c) wandering, but our order came out fine. I WILL say, though, that if you're an impatient NYer like me, you might want to pull your hair out when picking UP your take-out order takes almost as long as making the food. Food-wise, totally nothing to write home about; pretty standard Chinese fast food. I was actually happy that the steamed dumplings had a nice wrapper-to-meat ratio (thin wrappers instead of those terrible super breaded things that New England places seem to love), and the sesame chicken (the dish ordered for the sole purpose of comparing places!) was very light, crispy and not overloaded with a thick syrupy oddly colored sauce. Steamed chicken & veggies is steamed chicken & veggies anywhere, so I really have nothing to say about that one. The biggest disappointment were the wontons; they were dry, bland, and completely unappetizing. Oh well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad. So, in short: I'm going to refute the other two reviews and say that this place is a fine choice for quick take-out. The food is DEFINITELY not as tasty as Big Bowl, but if you're trying to avoid downtown, and just want a greasy meal, China Wok is A-OK.

THIS PLACE BLOWS. Never ever come here. It took them an hour and a half to deliver my cold food and warm soda. And when I ate it, it was not good quality. If you want good food, or even half decent food, never come within a mile of this place. I'm thoroughly convinced that if you were to be eating this Chinese food in the same vicinity as other food, China Wok will ruin that food. NEVER EAT THIS FOOD. And next time, if it isn't on the way, don't lie and tell me it is. Sincerely, Curtin Hall (which isn't an hour and half away from your crappy restaurant)

Their food is amazing and their service is amazing. The food is not too oily than like others. The food taste excellent. I love their lo mein and ho fun. The ho fun is not that thick. Best chinese food ever! I love this place

As far as generic, strip-mall takeout Chinese goes, this place is perfectly average. It's on the way home to N. Atherton-area State College for anyone (i.e., me) who spends their day on campus, which is probably the only reason (along with the cheap prices) I've revisited this place. Their dishes are typical, and neither delight nor disappoint--orange chicken, steamed chicken and veggies, and beef with broccoli were all exactly as I've had them at other takeout-centric Chinese places. I can't even begin to imagine the torturous experience that dining inside this restaurant would entail, however. The place is more daycare center gone awry than actual eatery, and the woman who works the phone and cash register always acts like you're ruining her day when you pick up your order. The occasional time I've seen diners in the restaurant, they always look confused at best, and one particular time, I watched a couple dodge a toy thrown by one of the manager's children. Yikes. A special warning to credit card users--they have a $10 minimum, which thwarts most dinner-for-one take-outers.

Completely unmemorable food. Not good, not bad, not bathroom inducing and not worth a stop unless you have absolutely no further options in the area (which is a little difficult to believe). The only dish I moderately enjoyed was their broccoli in garlic sauce otherwise it's a no-go. In addition, Charlie & I totally got into a fight with the manager over a credit card transaction. We ordered via takeout, she ran the card and it came back as denied. Positively perplexed we said we'd get back to the motel we were staying at and check into it with the bank as we knew immediately something strange was amiss (we had more than enough ample funds in the account and had just used it to purchase some items at Giant next door). When I checked the statement via net banking there was indeed ample money.. AND a hold for the amount of the takeout. Needless to say this went back and forth for a good thirty minutes the end result unfortunately leaving us with a hold for $17.00, no food and a very rude manager. Eventually we received our money back three days later but the entire situation left me with more of a sour taste than a sweet one. Poor customer relations aside, the food is worth about the two star rating I'm being kind enough to give them. No matter how cheap they appear to be, their sketchy management and mediocre food isn't worth ordering.
